- Telephone Support
Members are always welcome to pop in for a coffee or call us for information, advice and any of your Diabetes enquiries.
- Needle Disposal
Unfortunately as at December 2023, Diabetes Christchurch is unable to dispose of sharps. Please talk to your Community Pharmacy as many have a contract to provide disposal. We can still sell approved sharps containers.
- Podiatry Days
Our Podiatrist visits once or twice every month on a Tuesday to offer discounted toe nail clipping and foot care services. Sessions cost $42.00 for members or $80.00 for non members. Please phone to book an appointment time.
- Medical Device Assistance
Our staff are always happy to help if you have any issues with your glucose meter, insulin pen or finger pricker. Our service is free to Members and we offer free batteries instore for Caresens Meters, or assistance on how to use all your devices including Libre, Aidex and Dexcom CGM.
Please note we are unable to replace your faulty meter – if you have a Caresens meter you suspect is not working correctly please call 0800 458 267 to discuss the issue and possible replacement with the company direct.

CALENDER OF EVENTS
The shop will be closed all day to observe Canterbury Anniversary Day.
Come along and join in with this New Brighton Lions Awareness week fundraiser. Starting at the start of the Pier Walkway, Sumner Esplanade, bottle tops will be handed out to participants and tallied at the end of your walks to total the number of kilometers covered. Raffles available with proceeds to Diabetes Christchurch. Our ‘Light Up for Diabetes’ candles and Barnaby Bee lapel pins, and the Barnaby soft toy will be available to purchase during all Diabetes Awareness month at the various events.
Learn some handy tips to help manage your diabetes, hear updates on the new Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems and their funding, healthy eating, tastings and more.
$10 for members $14 for non members.
All Welcome to Diabetes Christchurch Annual High Tea Party and presentation of OBE’s and 50 and 60 years on insulin awards.
Entertainment and sing a long with the velvety voice of Pat Hannah.
Good food and good company.
Please bring a small plate of food to share but there will also be brilliant sandwiches etc by Wanda Peters

This class has been developed to help introduce regular and enjoyable exercise to people with diabetes.
Class is taken by Janet Straight.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat shoes.
